Getting settled - A process

I have been here in Arlington, VA for about two weeks now and, just like every other time I've moved, getting settled in is quite a process. But this time merging of the two households and living with husband permanently makes it different. I still feel like a tourist but once I start work I'm sure it will seem like a reality.

Before I left, there was nothing in the house but lots of room for kitties to run around.

The three day trip across the country from Texas was fun in the Bullitt with the Sugarkitty and Nick.

Caged Sugarkitty.

Sugar - positioned directly in front of the AC in a hotel room in Little Rock.

Nick - lounging on the bed in his red harness at hotel #2.

Upon arriving we got to work unpacking boxes but had time for a little shopping and cupcaking:

Stocking up - cheaper that way!

Cupcakes at Georgtown Cupcake - aka DC Cupcakes of TLC fame.

Wicked yummy.

Of course we got to work cooking too.

Mushroom Lasagna - amazing.

Fried yummy breakfast in an iron skillet. Delish!

We have had a great time so far and have tried to balance productivity with fun. We have the mountain bikes working and citified (better tires and lights) and plan to have many adventures on two wheels.

The DC area has so much to offer with wonderful, unique restaurants. We will get to then all. Eventually.

I leave you with this incriminating photo. Cats on the couch. Knowing full well they aren't allowed to be there.
